Academic profile
Earthquake Engineering Professor & International Expert
Advancing seismic resilience, structural safety and climate adaptation through science, leadership and international collaboration.

Profile
Engineering knowledge has its greatest value when it protects people, preserves critical infrastructure and strengthens society before the next disaster.
Prof. Dr. Mihail Garevski is a civil engineer, university professor and internationally recognised specialist in earthquake engineering, structural resilience and post-disaster assessment.
His career bridges academic research, institutional leadership and demanding engineering practice. He served for sixteen years as Director of IZIIS at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, later as professor and Vice-Rector at International Balkan University, and today leads the Institute for Seismic Resistant Structures and Climate Change — ISOGKP.
Expertise
A multidisciplinary practice spanning seismic safety, extreme loads, structural diagnostics and climate-related hazards.
Seismic hazard, performance assessment, design spectra and earthquake-resistant structural systems.
Assessment and rehabilitation of buildings, bridges and critical infrastructure under extreme actions.
Evidence-based evaluation of earthquake and fire damage, field investigation and recovery decisions.
Sensor-based monitoring, dynamic identification and interpretation of structural behaviour.
Research and advisory work on passive seismic protection, including LRB and friction-pendulum systems.
Engineering responses to multi-hazard risk, environmental extremes and resilient development.
